Nice! Those tell a lot about the greatest generation. The whiney bunch of liberal pansies we have now wouldn't lift a finger to help the country. I think we've spoiled ourselves out of prosperity and security.

I don't know if you have noticed but the current generation is doing 2, 3, 4, 5, 6... combat tours and doing it with skill, professionalism and honor. They have given as much as any generation and I commend them as being as good as any other Americans anytime in our history from the revolution to now. Hasn't anyone noticed how good they are and how much they have given? They very well may be, and I believe it is so, the best America has ever had.

I hope their GI bill is as good as the WWII guys got.

To be clear, I was not referring to service members. They are enduring a lot of hardships with honor. I was referring to the average Obama voter.

I am glad you cleared that up. I misread that as well thinking you had meant today's soldiers. Hakuna was wondering if the GI Bill is good. I can answer that. The GI Bill is pretty good today. I myself am using it to go to school. It pays all tuiton, some of my books, and gives a very modest living allowance while I attend school full time. It pays a little more than the Chapter 30. I wouldn't be able to afford my degree without it, since I wouldn't qualify for Pell grants.

It's good to see some photos from the Pacific Theater. I tend to only think of Europe when WWII comes to mind.
